Spot Re hits 8-yr high, trades around 43.13/$

The spot rupee hit a high of 43.11 per dollar - a tad higher than the July 2005 high of 43.115, and a high never seen since November 1999.

The rupee was trading around 43.13 per dollar in noon deals, dealers said as banks sold dollars to generate rupee resources to tide over a cash squeeze.
