Banks rule at Nirma

For the out-going batch of 124 students at Institute of Management, Nirma University, it was yet another season of equity, technology, market research, and major India banks making the best offers.
 
The highest offers on the campus this year were in the bracket of Rs 9.5 to Rs 11 lakh per annum which were offered by Citi Group, Accenture just to name a few. The placements were wrapped up in two days.
 
The average salary offered was around Rs 7.5 lakh which was higher than last year's average of Rs 5.5 to 6 lakh. Profiles offered included that of business consultant, business analyst, equity research analyst and business development manager.
 
Major recruiters this year included ICICI Group, Kotak Group and HDFC Bank who made several offers in core and banking finance. Market research firms IMRB and AC Nielsen also visited the campus and made offers in analytics.
 
Three of the recruiting firms offered profiles to work for their US clients while VSNL-Tata venture finalised on a few students to associate with their operations based out of Singapore, Tokyo, New Jersey, Canada and Brazil.
 
Accenture offered lateral positions to the students. Vodafone, Idea and Hewlett-Packard made offers with marketing profiles whereas Infosys took up students for business consulting. Ashok Leyland and public sector Indian Oil Corporation were other recruiters.
 
Ajit Desai, Chairman "� Corporate Relations said, "IBM Global made a few offers for their newly created exports cell. Deloitte Consulting took away five students for their US client servicing. Citi Bank and Citi Group offered high packages and Tatas made their impact with their seniors visiting the campus and offering best slots in Tata Group's various initiatives."
