Course in jewellery retail management

| Sensing the need for jewellery retail experts, the Indian Institute of Jewellery (IIJ) is launching a training programme, Jewellery in Organised Retail Management, in October this year. |
| The institute will provide students with placement opportunities and certified students can expect starting salaries up to Rs 100,000 per year. |
| "Jewellery retailers approached us for conducting a course to train their employees. We provided customised training programmes in the last one year to industry players like CKC Jewellers of Bangalore and Tanishq. The course has been introduced to meet this specific need of the jewellery retail industry," Vijay Kumar Jatia, chairman and managing director, Modern India Group, the promoters of IIJ, said. |
| ICICI joins hands with Manipal varsity |
| ICICI has joined hands with Manipal University for offering specialised courses in banking and insurance. The ICICI-Manipal Academy for Banking and Insurance aims to expand the pool of industry ready resources and generate employment opportunities for graduates. |
| As part of the course, ICICI recently announced the launch of "probationary officer programme" to attract graduates to pursue a career in banking. |
| The one-year residential programme aims to familiarise students with the ICICI group ethos and work ethics. After the completion of the course, the students will be awarded a post graduate diploma in banking and insurance and absorbed in a managerial position in the ICICI group. |
| ICR-India's diploma in clinical research |
| The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR), India, announced the launch of its global post-graduate (PG) diploma in clinical research in association with ICR, United Kingdom. The course will focus on the regulations regarding clinical research in Europe, the US, Japan and India. |
| "This will help in producing professionals for the global market," Anand K Nair, president, National Operations, ICR-India, said. |
| The course will commence in February 2008. The PG diploma course holders will be eligible for the masters programme of Cranfield University, UK. |
