Arabica grades see local interest

Arabica plantation coffee attracted selective domestic interest on the basis of quality at today's Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction.
 
According to auctioneers Caritt Moran and Company, secondary grades continued to witness good demand . Robusta main grades did not sell as the current asking prices were high.
 
Of the 384 metric tonne offered for sale (last week 455 tonne), only 78 tonne was sold against last week's 91 tonne. Of the stock on sale, Arabica comprised 200 tonne against last week's 218 tonne, Robusta 184 tonne (last week 237 tonne).
 
Following are the prices quoted for grades in Rs per 50kg. Arabica varities: Arabica Parchment PB Rs 4,662 (quantity sold 4,894 kgs), Arabica Parchment AB Rs 4,731 (1,868 kg), Arabica Parchment A Rs 4,915 (7,025 kg), Arabica Parchment B Rs 4,350 (1,523 kg), Arabica Parchment C Rs 4,300 (2,116 kg), Arabica Parchment BBB Rs 3,546 (425 kg), Arabica Cherry PB Rs 3,603 (3,026 kg), Arabica Cherry AB Rs 4,000 (910 kg), Arabica Cherry C Rs 2,800 (3,035 kg), Arabica Cherry BBB Rs 2,553 (31,468 kgs).
 
Robusta varities: Robusta Cherry BBB Rs 2,450 (743 kg).
