Pepper, jeera up on stockists buying

Black pepper and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists as well as exporters. Black pepper prices were up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 22,100-22,200 per quintal. 

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher at Rs 13,300-13,500 and Rs 14,500-14,800 against previous closing of Rs 13,200-13,400 and Rs 14,400-14,700 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand and firming trend at futures market, pushing up pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 16,000-19,500, black pepper common 22,100-22,200 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,040 -1,050 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300
