Potato futures shed 0.33% on sluggish demand

Potato prices traded lower by Rs 2.10 to Rs 641.80 per quintal in futures trading today, due to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the potato prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, March potato declined by Rs 2.10, or 0.33%, to Rs 641.80 per quintal, with a business turnover of seven lots.
Traders said decline in potato futures prices was due to offloading of positions by speculators following sluggish demand against increased arrivals from producing regions.
