Select base meals recover on global cues

Copper prices recovered at the non-ferrous metal market here today on the back of renewed industrial demand amid modest stockists buying following firming trend in overseas.
Elsewhere, aluminium and lead also moved up owing to better offtake from consumer industries. Meanwhile, nickel and brass declined on subdued demand from industrial users.
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 457 and Rs 485 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 452 and Rs 480.
Copper scrap heavy firmed up by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 446 as against Rs 442 previously. Aluminium utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 107 from Rs 105.
Copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and lead inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 436, Rs 406 and Rs 119 respectively.
However, nickel dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,175 from overnight close of Rs 1,185 yesterday and brass utensils scrap softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 297 from Rs 298 previously.
