Sensex down 73pts; metal, bank stocks lead fall

The Sensex is now down 73 points at 10,671.

The BSE Metal index has shed 2% to 7645, and the Bankex is down 1.6% at 4705.

Reliance Communications has dropped 2.7% to Rs 256. Cipla and Hindalco have slipped 2.5% each to Rs 230 and Rs 157, respectively.

HDFC Bank has declined over 2% to Rs 778. Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Motors, SBI, Reliance Energy, Maruti and Tata Steel are down around 1.5% each at Rs 103, Rs 729, Rs 798, Rs 446, Rs 775 and Rs 490, respectively.

Out of 2,179 stocks traded so far, 1,319 have declined, 796 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
