Sensex sheds 188pts; ICICI plunges 4%

The Sensex is now down 188 points at 13,833.

ICICI Bank has plunged 3.8% to Rs 913. SBI and Bharti Airtel have tumbled around 3% each to Rs 1,046 and Rs 779, respectively.

ACC, Gujarat Ambuja, Ranbaxy and ITC have slipped 2.7% each to Rs 937, Rs 123, Rs 359 and Rs 169, respectively.

Grasim, Hindalco, Tata Motors, Maruti and Reliance Communications are down around 2% each.

Out of 2,294 stocks traded so far, 1,893 have declined, 368 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
