Sensex up 143pts; HDFC Bank, Hero Honda rally

The Sensex is now up 143 points at 11,456.

HDFC Bank and Hero Honda have rallied nearly 4% each to Rs 837 and Rs 708, respectively.

Satyam, Wipro, SBI, ONGC and Ranbaxy have gained over 2% each to Rs 791, Rs 522, Rs 891, Rs 1,239 and Rs 400, respectively.

TCS and Tata Motors are up almost 2% each at Rs 983 and Rs 816, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,025 stocks traded so far, 1,601 have advanced, 382 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
