Sensex up 76pts; Tata Steel gains 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 17 points at 5,107.

Tata Steel has surged 3.5% to Rs 805.

Jaiprakash Associates, ACC, SBI and Hindalco have rallied around 1.5% each to Rs 255, Rs 778, Rs 1,762 and Rs 189, respectively.

Cipla and ITC have gained 1.3% each at Rs 218 and Rs 214, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Tata Motors are up over 1% each at Rs 905 and Rs 640, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has slipped over 1% to Rs 917.
