Sugar firms up on better demand

Sugar prices firmed up at the Vashi wholesale market here today on increased buying from stockists and traders coupled with festive offtake. 

Medium sugar quality (M-30) moved up by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,831/2,921 from last Friday's closing level of Rs 2,831/2,911.

Small sugar quality (S-30) also gained by a similar margin to Rs 2,801/2,861 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,791/2,851 previously.
