After Dennis Quaid was caught having a total meltdown on camera, the viral clip has been revealed as a comedy video website Funny or Die prank.

Jimmy Kimmel denied being behind Quaid's on-set meltdown after many speculated that the foul-mouthed rant was a prank, but now Funny Or Die have revealed it was all part of a new skit, the Mirror reported.

Footage, which appeared to be leaked online, showing the star in the middle of a screaming tantrum, appeared to have been filmed by a production crew member after someone walked on to the set, interrupting the 61-year-old actor.

'The Parent Trap' ranted "I am acting here and this d**khead wanders on to MY set. I can't even get a line out until Dopey the D**k starts whispering in your ear and you're not even watching any more."

He continued screaming "Don't f***ing Dennis me, I am doing my job here. I am a pro," before adding "This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on!"

The 'Day After Tomorrow' actor could then be heard storming off the set, calling back "blow me.
