Prime Minister Narendra Modi released FIFA Stamp, FootBallFever for 2014 FIFA World cup at 7RCR on Thursday.
"Society can't function without a sportsman spirit. Sports brings people together," said Modi.
"This is history; India is making preparations for hosting the (Junior U-17) Football World Cup in 2017. Football is gaining space in our country's sports. We need to push it more. Commentary plays a very important role in any game," he added.
Modi also thanked the Goa Government for its decision to send six MLAs on a "junket" to Brazil to attend the FIFA World Cup.
