The Upper House of Pakistan has adopted a resolution to urge the government to take further action towards the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) to counter terrorism.
According to Dawn News, the resolution was taken after the Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan briefed the members of the house on the opening day of its new session about the progress made so far in tackling terrorism.
Minister of the Awami National Party Sitara Ayaz claimed improvement in the security situation throughout the country and particularly in Karachi since 2013.
He also said that there was not complete peace in the country and a war was still going on.
The Interior Minister said that there were 64 banned organisations under the law of the land, while 74 had been declared unlawful by the United Nations.
He said that their activities were under surveillance.
