The postponed heavyweight fight between British boxing stars David Haye and Tyson Fury has reportedly been re-scheduled for February 8 in Manchester next year.

The duo had been due to meet on 28 September but Haye was forced to pull out after sustaining a cut on his head, which needed six stitches, in sparring.

According to the BBC, Haye said that the news about the February date is 'music to his ears', adding that he is relieved by the speed of the arrangement of the new date as he was devastated at letting his fans down with his injury.

Haye further said that his fans would get to see Fury 'sparked out' in a spectacular fashion in February, adding that although Fury may have been emboldened enough to call him names following the postponement of the fight, he is even more determined now to expose Fury in front millions and land punches on his 'massive head and doughy gut'.

Dismissing criticism over his desire not to use a head-guard in sparring, Haye also said that such injuries are common during training, adding that to suggest that the cut was premeditated shows a clear lack of knowledge and understanding.
