Auto stocks rise

Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 235.1 points or 1.33% at 17882.89 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 3.37%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 1.64%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.45%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.42%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.35%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 1.33%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.33%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 1.18%), Exide Industries Ltd (up 1.01%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.99%).

On the other hand, MRF Ltd (down 0.92%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (down 0.27%) turned lower.

 

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 429.05 or 1.05% at 41408.67.

The Nifty 50 index was up 127.7 points or 1.06% at 12159.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 87.8 points or 0.59% at 14864.13.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.15 points or 0.51% at 5138.7.

On BSE,1092 shares were trading in green, 449 were trading in red and 60 were unchanged.
