Auto stocks rise
Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 292.42 points or 1.24% at 23863.09 at 09:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 2.83%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 2.26%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 2.12%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.48%),Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.2%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Escorts Ltd (up 1.07%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.06%), Cummins India Ltd (up 0.97%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 0.94%), and MRF Ltd (up 0.66%).
On the other hand, Tube Investments of India Ltd (down 1.16%), turned lower.
At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 78.81 or 0.15% at 52667.52.
The Nifty 50 index was up 29.6 points or 0.19% at 15802.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.38 points or 0.23% at 25118.69.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.7 points or 0.4% at 7766.61.
On BSE,1621 shares were trading in green, 969 were trading in red and 98 were unchanged.
