Basic materials shares rise

Basic materials stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index rising 9.96 points or 0.47% at 2123.71 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, Jindal Stainless Ltd (up 8.01%), Zuari Global Ltd (up 7.69%),Kiri Industries Ltd (up 4.99%),Pokarna Ltd (up 4.64%),Rain Industries Ltd (up 4.6%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were NOCIL Ltd (up 3.87%), Phillips Carbon Black Ltd (up 3.6%), Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (up 3.14%), Prism Johnson Ltd (up 3.04%), and Tamil Nadu Petro Products Ltd (up 2.73%).

On the other hand, Vikas Ecotech Ltd (down 4.76%), Jayant Agro Organics Ltd (down 4.72%), and Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 3.24%) moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 26.47 or 0.09% at 30959.37.

The Nifty 50 index was up 8.35 points or 0.09% at 9114.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 59.04 points or 0.56% at 10607.17.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 20.6 points or 0.55% at 3762.65.

On BSE,786 shares were trading in green, 560 were trading in red and 77 were unchanged.
