Energy shares fall

Energy stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 35.47 points or 0.68% at 5179.66 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 2.63%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.08%),Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.02%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 0.89%),Oil India Ltd (down 0.6%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Coal India Ltd (down 0.35%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 0.35%), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.24%), Aban Offshore Ltd (down 0.19%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 0.08%).

On the other hand, Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 4.35%), Gujarat Gas Ltd (up 2.23%), and Adani Gas Ltd (up 1.58%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.71 or 0% at 41860.4.

The Nifty 50 index was up 5.4 points or 0.04% at 12334.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 90.81 points or 0.64% at 14372.9.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 31.06 points or 0.63% at 4927.97.

On BSE,1329 shares were trading in green, 996 were trading in red and 153 were unchanged.
