Energy shares gain
Energy stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index rising 73.03 points or 1.5% at 4951.81 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Coal India Ltd (up 2.29%), Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 2.04%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 2.02%),Aban Offshore Ltd (up 1.82%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.76%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Castrol India Ltd (up 1.19%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 1.12%), Adani Gas Ltd (up 1.1%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 1.01%), and Gujarat Gas Ltd (up 0.94%).
On the other hand, Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 0.18%), moved lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 242.66 or 0.59% at 41137.04.
The Nifty 50 index was up 82.65 points or 0.69% at 12075.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 134.61 points or 0.93% at 14602.04.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 46.09 points or 0.92% at 5038.98.
On BSE,1105 shares were trading in green, 390 were trading in red and 54 were unchanged.
