Energy shares slide

Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 30.6 points or 0.64% at 4772.04 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 4.99%), Deep Industries Ltd (down 2.85%),Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 2.75%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 2.5%),Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.73%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 1.53%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.95%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.64%), Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.6%), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.22%).

On the other hand, Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 2.91%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 2.35%), and Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 2.18%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 124.11 or 0.33% at 38004.51.

The Nifty 50 index was up 31.3 points or 0.28% at 11265.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 33.95 points or 0.27% at 12757.25.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 10.98 points or 0.25% at 4319.12.

On BSE,1010 shares were trading in green, 1279 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
