Energy stocks edge lower
Energy stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 26.23 points or 0.5% at 5238.51 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 2.21%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 0.97%),Aban Offshore Ltd (down 0.97%),Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.93%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.7%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.69%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 0.65%), Gujarat Gas Ltd (down 0.51%), Castrol India Ltd (down 0.46%), and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.4%).
On the other hand, Adani Gas Ltd (up 4.53%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 3.97%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.27%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 77.5 or 0.19% at 41565.16.
The Nifty 50 index was down 15.5 points or 0.13% at 12247.25.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 4.31 points or 0.03% at 13386.34.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.64 points or 0.01% at 4699.18.
On BSE,1082 shares were trading in green, 1194 were trading in red and 165 were unchanged.
