Energy stocks edge lower

Energy stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 42.29 points or 0.94% at 4444.78 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 4.98%), Oil India Ltd (down 2.36%),Aban Offshore Ltd (down 1.5%),Coal India Ltd (down 1.37%),Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.27%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Castrol India Ltd (down 1.06%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 0.66%), Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.47%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 0.33%), and Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 0.31%).

On the other hand, Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 1.79%), Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 1.72%), and Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 1.46%) turned up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 169.01 or 0.44% at 38578.49.

The Nifty 50 index was up 52.4 points or 0.47% at 11303.4.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.18 points or 0.33% at 13597.61.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.91 points or 0.1% at 4717.68.

On BSE,1223 shares were trading in green, 1028 were trading in red and 151 were unchanged.
