Energy stocks slide
Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 50.12 points or 1.04% at 4764.76 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Adani Gas Ltd (down 5.14%), Goa Carbon Ltd (down 3.75%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.4%),Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 1.93%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.8%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 1.67%), Oil India Ltd (down 1.58%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.37%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 1.22%), and Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (down 1.16%).
On the other hand, Gujarat Gas Ltd (up 1.89%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.18%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.36%) turned up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 28.06 or 0.07% at 40391.29.
The Nifty 50 index was down 2.8 points or 0.02% at 11826.6.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 50.63 points or 0.35% at 14462.52.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 13.64 points or 0.27% at 4993.25.
On BSE,919 shares were trading in green, 1327 were trading in red and 161 were unchanged.
