Financials shares gain
Financials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index rising 288.97 points or 6.41% at 4796.61 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, IndusInd Bank Ltd (up 19.99%), Bandhan Bank Ltd (up 19.99%),Equitas Holdings Ltd (up 17.59%),Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (up 16.76%),Axis Bank Ltd (up 15.76%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Manappuram Finance Ltd (up 14.99%), New India Assurance Company Ltd (up 13.89%), Federal Bank Ltd (up 13.28%), IDFC First Bank Ltd (up 12.64%), and Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (up 12.31%).
On the other hand, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (down 2.73%), Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 1.27%), and Religare Enterprises Ltd (down 0.55%) moved lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 1002.03 or 3.35% at 30948.8.
The Nifty 50 index was up 344.1 points or 3.98% at 8985.55.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 375.18 points or 3.96% at 9845.63.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 119.46 points or 3.46% at 3569.17.
On BSE,1203 shares were trading in green, 220 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
