Financials stocks edge lower

Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 159.13 points or 2.27% at 6852.34 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, CARE Ratings Ltd (down 9.2%), SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (down 7.24%),Satin Creditcare Network Ltd (down 6.42%),Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 5.99%),Canara Bank (down 5.53%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Aditya Birla Money Ltd (down 5.5%), Repco Home Finance Ltd (down 5.5%), PNB Housing Finance Ltd (down 5.45%), Indostar Capital Finance Ltd (down 5.39%), and Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (down 5.26%).

On the other hand, Weizmann Forex Ltd (up 19.99%), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (up 4.97%), and Indian Overseas Bank (up 4.41%) turned up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 691.28 or 1.67% at 40773.33.

The Nifty 50 index was down 207.55 points or 1.7% at 12019.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 253.04 points or 1.81% at 13735.85.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 82.33 points or 1.7% at 4748.88.

On BSE,528 shares were trading in green, 1848 were trading in red and 172 were unchanged.
