Financials stocks edge lower
Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 20.57 points or 0.47% at 4379.19 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd (down 6.64%), Central Bank of India (down 5.29%),Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (down 5.27%),Repco Home Finance Ltd (down 5%),AAVAS Financiers Ltd (down 5%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Religare Enterprises Ltd (down 4.99%), RBL Bank Ltd (down 4.99%), IDFC Ltd (down 4.98%), Muthoot Capital Services Ltd (down 4.87%), and Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (down 4.65%).
On the other hand, Geojit Financial Services Ltd (up 10.03%), Reliance Capital Ltd (up 9.93%), and CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (up 5%) turned up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 505.47 or 1.65% at 31142.18.
The Nifty 50 index was up 133.45 points or 1.49% at 9114.9.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 9.78 points or 0.09% at 10574.63.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 2.15 points or 0.06% at 3703.19.
On BSE,1038 shares were trading in green, 1168 were trading in red and 155 were unchanged.
