Healthcare stocks edge higher

Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 93.59 points or 0.68% at 13881.66 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Wockhardt Ltd (up 9.48%), Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 4.69%),Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (up 4.32%),Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (up 4.01%),Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd (up 2.51%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (up 2.45%), Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 2.01%), Granules India Ltd (up 2%), Piramal Enterprises Ltd (up 1.77%), and Shalby Ltd (up 1.62%).

On the other hand, Sequent Scientific Ltd (down 2.59%), Thyrocare Technologies Ltd (down 1.6%), and Vimta Labs Ltd (down 1.26%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 157.86 or 0.38% at 42030.59.

The Nifty 50 index was up 34.95 points or 0.28% at 12378.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 102.37 points or 0.7% at 14636.23.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 27.66 points or 0.56% at 5004.75.

On BSE,1054 shares were trading in green, 378 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
