Healthcare stocks gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 272.74 points or 2.24% at 12451.33 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Kilitch Drugs (India) Ltd (up 9.85%), Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 6.63%),Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 6.4%),Thyrocare Technologies Ltd (up 6.24%),Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd (up 5.33%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Fermenta Biotech Ltd (up 4.34%), Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (up 4.19%), Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 3.9%), Piramal Enterprises Ltd (up 3.88%), and RPG Life Sciences Ltd (up 3.66%).

On the other hand, Shilpa Medicare Ltd (down 5%), IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 4.98%), and Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (down 3.21%) turned lower.

 

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 316.59 or 1.01% at 31706.66.

The Nifty 50 index was up 63.8 points or 0.69% at 9261.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 16.35 points or 0.15% at 11111.54.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 13.67 points or 0.35% at 3913.46.

On BSE,799 shares were trading in green, 749 were trading in red and 70 were unchanged.
