Information Technology stocks rise

Information Technology stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index increasing 282.78 points or 0.97% at 29311.85 at 09:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Brightcom Group Ltd (up 4.99%), Infibeam Avenues Ltd (up 3.76%),KPIT Technologies Ltd (up 1.89%),Sonata Software Ltd (up 1.7%),NIIT Ltd (up 1.5%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Mastek Ltd (up 1.38%), TVS Electronics Ltd (up 1.32%), Mphasis Ltd (up 1.29%), Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd (up 1.21%), and Quick Heal Technologies Ltd (up 1.16%).

On the other hand, 3i Infotech Ltd (down 5%), HCL Infosystems Ltd (down 4.98%), and Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd (down 1.84%) turned lower.

 

At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 234.71 or 0.45% at 52540.79.

The Nifty 50 index was up 57.65 points or 0.37% at 15744.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 51.92 points or 0.21% at 25004.54.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.59 points or 0.15% at 7737.75.

On BSE,1647 shares were trading in green, 923 were trading in red and 93 were unchanged.
