Metal stocks rise

Metal stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Metal index increasing 51.42 points or 0.51% at 10206.76 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Steel Authority of India Ltd (up 1.46%), Tata Steel Ltd (up 1.26%),JSW Steel Ltd (up 1.13%),Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 1.06%),NMDC Ltd (up 0.52%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.47%), Vedanta Ltd (up 0.47%), National Aluminium Company Ltd (up 0.47%), and Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 0.07%).

On the other hand, Coal India Ltd (down 0.45%), turned lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 10.55 or 0.03% at 41471.81.

 

The Nifty 50 index was down 4.5 points or 0.04% at 12210.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 33.69 points or 0.25% at 13418.02.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 5.77 points or 0.12% at 4702.03.

On BSE,843 shares were trading in green, 509 were trading in red and 84 were unchanged.
