Nifty February 2017 futures trade at premium to spot closing

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises

The January 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,422, at a premium of 14.80 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,407.20 in the cash market. The February 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,446, a premium of 38.80 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 5.93 lakh crore from Rs 5.32 lakh crore registered on Wednesday, 11 January 2017.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 26.55 points or 0.32% to settle at 8,407.20, its highest closing level since 10 November 2016.

 

Yes Bank, Tata Steel, Infosys, State Bank of India (SBI), and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank January 2017 futures traded at 1,328.40, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,326. Tata Steel January 2017 futures traded at 449, at a premium compared with spot closing of 447.65. Infosys January 2017 futures traded at 1,006, at a premium to spot closing of 1,001.50.

SBI January 2017 futures traded at 252.05, at a premium compared with spot closing of 251.15. ICICI Bank January 2017 futures traded at 268.40, at a discount compared with spot closing of 268.50.

The January 2017 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 January 2017. The February 2017 F&O contracts are set to expire on 23 February 2017.
