Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 216.65 points or 1.45% at 15110.91 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 5.16%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.18%),Castrol India Ltd (up 1.61%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.23%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.71%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.54%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.46%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.31%).
On the other hand, GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.02%), and Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 0.61%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 98.09 or 0.25% at 38604.18.
The Nifty 50 index was up 43.45 points or 0.38% at 11471.75.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 78.53 points or 0.61% at 12852.14.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.43 points or 0.54% at 4377.88.
On BSE,854 shares were trading in green, 484 were trading in red and 79 were unchanged.
