Power stocks edge higher

Power stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Power index increasing 3.81 points or 0.15% at 2550.12 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Power Ltd (up 7.54%), Adani Transmission Ltd (up 1.65%),Adani Green Energy Ltd (up 1.46%),Thermax Ltd (up 1.15%),Tata Power Company Ltd (up 1%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.67%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 0.59%), K E C International Ltd (up 0.46%), NHPC Ltd (up 0.4%), and Siemens Ltd (up 0.12%).

On the other hand, NTPC Ltd (down 1.69%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.1%), and ABB India Ltd (down 0.25%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 866.68 or 1.68% at 50577.97.

The Nifty 50 index was down 229.35 points or 1.5% at 15016.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 16.14 points or 0.08% at 21069.15.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 10.51 points or 0.15% at 7014.22.

On BSE,973 shares were trading in green, 1247 were trading in red and 98 were unchanged.
