Power stocks edge lower
Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 1.6 points or 0.08% at 1912.61 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.23%), Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.85%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.7%),K E C International Ltd (down 0.43%),NTPC Ltd (down 0.3%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NHPC Ltd (down 0.21%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.2%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 0.2%), and ABB India Ltd (down 0.15%).
On the other hand, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.7%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 1.31%), and Thermax Ltd (up 0.9%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 29.69 or 0.07% at 41050.3.
The Nifty 50 index was up 27.35 points or 0.23% at 12128.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 38.7 points or 0.29% at 13476.18.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 33.53 points or 0.71% at 4739.9.
On BSE,1185 shares were trading in green, 1119 were trading in red and 180 were unchanged.
