Power stocks rise
Power stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Power index increasing 29.62 points or 2.05% at 1476.62 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, K E C International Ltd (up 4.72%), Tata Power Company Ltd (up 3.98%),Adani Power Ltd (up 2.34%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 2.3%),NTPC Ltd (up 2.13%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were CESC Ltd (up 1.72%), Siemens Ltd (up 1.57%), Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.44%), Thermax Ltd (up 1.09%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 1.06%).
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 346.88 or 1.09% at 32062.23.
The Nifty 50 index was up 129.8 points or 1.4% at 9423.3.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 119.38 points or 1.11% at 10872.96.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 43.54 points or 1.15% at 3819.24.
On BSE,1101 shares were trading in green, 362 were trading in red and 74 were unchanged.
