Telecom shares ease

Telecom stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 11.98 points or 0.86% at 1376.63 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 3.31%), OnMobile Global Ltd (down 2.09%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 1.24%),Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 1.08%),Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 0.78%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Tejas Networks Ltd (down 0.66%), Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 0.45%), and ITI Ltd (down 0.31%).

On the other hand, Reliance Communications Ltd (up 2.65%), HFCL Ltd (up 1.67%), and Indus Towers Ltd (up 0.45%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 332.48 or 0.65% at 51112.17.

 

The Nifty 50 index was down 83.65 points or 0.55% at 15161.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 190.41 points or 0.9% at 21275.7.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 53.38 points or 0.76% at 7078.11.

On BSE,1601 shares were trading in green, 1262 were trading in red and 174 were unchanged.
