Utilties shares gain

Utilties stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index rising 44.77 points or 2.08% at 2198.24 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 10.23%), Adani Power Ltd (up 7.02%),Adani Transmission Ltd (up 6.89%),Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (up 4.45%),JSW Energy Ltd (up 3.94%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Power Company Ltd (up 3.34%), Torrent Power Ltd (up 3.11%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (up 2.69%), NLC India Ltd (up 2.09%), and Mahanagar Gas Ltd (up 1.71%).

On the other hand, Reliance Power Ltd (down 1.77%), Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (down 0.5%), and SJVN Ltd (down 0.18%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 296.46 or 0.59% at 50593.35.

The Nifty 50 index was up 85.35 points or 0.57% at 15004.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 232.61 points or 1.12% at 21038.85.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 71.56 points or 1.03% at 6992.84.

On BSE,1598 shares were trading in green, 632 were trading in red and 105 were unchanged.
