Utilties shares tank

Utilties stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 35.58 points or 1.92% at 1817.57 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (down 5.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 4.58%),NHPC Ltd (down 3.95%),Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 3.91%),GE T&D India Ltd (down 2.6%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were SJVN Ltd (down 2.14%), Va Tech Wabag Ltd (down 2.13%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.99%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.91%), and Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.57%).
On the other hand, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (up 4.95%), Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (up 1.65%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (up 0.67%) moved up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 8.17 or 0.02% at 40905.65.
The Nifty 50 index was down 16.35 points or 0.14% at 12019.45.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 3.23 points or 0.06% at 5047.74.
On BSE,923 shares were trading in green, 1305 were trading in red and 139 were unchanged.
