Four Australian undergraduates to study in India

Four Australian undergraduate students will live, study and undertake internship in India next year under Australia's New Colombo Plan scholarships, it was announced on Tuesday.

"These students are among Australia's most talented emerging leaders and they will come home with new perspectives, insights and skills after their experience in India," Australian High Commissioner Harinder Sidhu said in a statement.

"Living and learning alongside young people from India will create enduring bonds of friendship and understanding. It will help build a future of peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region," she said

The four students selected are Nicholas McConville of Deakin University, Geoffrey Flugge of Australian National University, Serge Nassif of Macquarie University and Zachary Wolff of The University of Sydney.

 

These New Colombo Plan 2018 India scholars will study a broad range of disciplines including trade and corporate law, international relations, and mathematics and data analysis.

The New Colombo Plan is an initiative of the Australian government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internship in the region.
