The fourth quarter results of India’s leading IT companies have turned out to be every bit as bleak as had been expected. Its top executives have given up trying to talk up spirits. Infosys CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan has declared the level of uncertainty to be “unprecedented” and admitted that this is “probably one of the worst economic environments we have seen in our lifetime”. The numbers bear this out abundantly.
