The chairman and managing director (CMD) of a Bangalore-based company asked his admin manager to conduct audits across all branches to cut wasteful expenditure. The problem, it seemed, started at the top; the manager found that the CMD held a SIM card that he did not use but for which the firm paid Rs 750 a month.
