'PM should step in to ensure meaningful talks with Maoists'

Agnivesh claimed that the Maoists are releasing Sukma District Collector Alex Paul Menon solely on "humanitarian grounds".

"It is time for the Central government and the Prime Minister to step in and give a positive response by calling a ceasefire," he said.

The social activist suggested that the Central government should set up a committee having credible non-political persons like Justice Rajinder Sachar and former Chief Justice of India J S Verma to solve the Maoist problem. PTI JDA GVS SJY
