The annual conference of top police officers of the country has been postponed from its December schedule due to "administrative issues" and tight work schedule of the prime minister and the home minister, official sources said today.
The three-day Directors General (DsG) and Inspectors General (IsG) of Police conference was initially supposed to be held from December 1 to December 3 at the Border Security Force (BSF) academy in Tekanpur near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
The next schedule of events is being worked out, said the sources.

Some "administrative issues" and tight work schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh had led to the delay in the finalisation of the tentative dates, they said.
It was not immediately clear whether the campaign tours by the prime minister and the home minister for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly polls were also a reason for the delay in the holding of the conference.
The tentative agenda of the latest edition of the conference has cyber terrorism and the impact of social media on the society as important topics of discussion.
About 250 police officers, in the ranks of DsG and IsG, are expected to attend the conclave this time, which will discuss issues such as security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) theatre and the Northeast.
The DGsP and IGsP conference is an annual affair where senior police officials of the states and the Centre meet and discuss issues.
The Modi government has been holding the event outside the national capital since it came to power in 2014.
The last three conferences were held in Guwahati, Rann of Kutch in Gujarat and Hyderabad, respectively.
