BJP takes exception to remark by NC Minister

"We take serious exception to the reported remark by the minister. It is a blatant violation of the oath of office and Constitution," BJP state chief spokesperson and party's National Executive member Jitendra Singh told reporters here.

He said that on October 9, Sagar had said in his reply to a short discussion regarding empowerment and strengthening the Panchayats that, "The Kashmir issue is an admitted fact (between India and Pakistan) which needs political solution and Panchayats have nothing to do with it."

"If any minister in the government genuinely holds a view contrary to the Constitution then propriety demands that he should first resign before airing such views," he said.
