Carcass of elephant found in Odisha

The carcass of the elephant was spotted by villagers near Anthukuraketeni village of Sarangi range forest, S K Dalei, District Forest Officer (DFO) of Dhenkanal said.

The cause of the death has not yet been established and it would be ascertained after post-mortem, Dalei adds.

Both the tusks measuring 68 cm and 63 cm were intact and the age of the pachyderm was around 40 years, he said.
