Entrance of Goddess sannidhi to re-open after sixty years

The south entrance of Goddess Parvathavardhini's sannidhi at Sri Ramanatha swamy temple here, Which remained closed for the last sixty years, will be re-opened on July 26, on the day of "Aadi Amavashya", temple officials said.

In view of better security arrangements placed at the temple premises and increase in the number of devotees day by day, a decision to open the entrance was taken, Joint Commissioner S Selvaraj and temple engineer, K Mayilvaganam said today.

They also said more than five lakh devotees were expected to throng the temple on the auspicious day to pay their homage to their forefathers here.
 

Following a theft in the temple sixty years ago the entrance was closed, they said.
