Four Achik militants arrested

Acting on specific inputs, the police launched an operation in the area and arrested the cadre after an encounter, they said.

The four have been identified as Lakam Momin, Binakson G Momin, Milestone Momin and Boro Momin.

Police sources informed that the cadres have been distributing demand notes to quarry owners in Pillingkatta.

One demand note was also recovered from their possession by the police.

In another incident, police arrested one Sudhir Ch Marak for providing shelter to the GNLA cadres at Dholoi Katra Duwa 5 km from Dangar police outpost, they said.

Police said that Marak is the father of one of the militants.

 

On conducting operations, the GNLA militants staying in a school in the village managed to escape taking advantage of the thick forest, they said.
