Heavy to very heavy rains along with high-speed winds are likely to lash some places of Odisha in the next two days due to a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
The low pressure area has formed over north-west Bay of Bengal off Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal Coasts, the meteorological centre here said today.
Under its influence, rain and thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha, while heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over interior Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places over coastal region during the next 48 hours, it said.
Surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph and up to 55 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast. Sea condition would be moderate to rough.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea, the met office said.
